Infrared Receiver

An infrared receiver, or IR receiver, is hardware that sends information from an infrared remote control to another device by receiving and decoding signals.

By controlling the spacing between the transmitted modulated signals, the waveform can be read by an input pin on a microcontroller and decoded as a serial bit stream.
